Natalia Paleo
Natalia Paleo Mosquera is lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and member of Armela research group (USC). She obtained her PhD in Political Science at the USC in 2015, with a thesis regarding the development of local gender policies in Spain. This research led to the publication of the book “As políticas municipales de xénero en España. O caso dos municipios galegos” in Laiovento (2018). Previously, she completed a Master’s degree in Public Management from the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona. During her academic career, she has been visiting researcher at the University of Bristol and has participated in several research projects at the national and regional levels, which have focused mainly on the analysis of gender and social policies. She is currenly co-coordinator of the Gender and Politics Group of the Spanish Political Science Association (AECPA) (2019-present).
She has extensive experience in public management, holding technical positions in various public administrations at the different levels of government in Spain (Government of Catalunya, Barcelona Provincial Council, Municipal Goverment of Granollers). Between 2015 and 2018 she held the position of senior advisor to the Mayor’s Office of the city council of Santiago de Compostela, focusing her work on social and gender policies.
